Here are the top 10 signs you became too attached to your pacmate.

10. You still remember the day you got your pacmate.
9. you give it a name.
8. you feel like a mom with a new baby.
7. you take it to bed with you or find it a special place to sleep.
6. when you go out to eat, you take the pac mate with you and tell the hostess that it's a dinner for 2.
6. Every year, you give your pacmate a birthday party.
5. when you charge the pacmate, you say your feeding it.
4. you talk to it at night.
3. when you put the pacmate in it's case, you say your dressing it.
2. when you know you're going out for the day, you find a good babysitter for the pacmate.
And the number 1,
when you have to send it to FS for repair, you call and ask when are visiting hours lol.

i think that isn't too far from the truth considering how bloody much those packmates

Very cute...

I guess, going by the first post, that I have an abusive relationship with mine.

"Oh, so you want an upgrade? Do you really think you deserve it? Get in the closet you bad memory having idiot! no, get in there naked, and without food!" the Pacmate is hurled into a dark corner of an already too full closet. The door is shut, and it sits in darkness.

"Now that she’s gone, you and I can play all we want." A laptop is carefully opened, its screen wiped with a dry rag, and the machine is gently nestled on a comforting lap. "Yes, she's gone, and you and I can play, you cute little thing..."

*kisses the screen*

I think that applies more to my laptop than my Pacmate myself, though there was a time that would've definitely been my braille 'n speak. Ah, how the times change.

Well I don't have a good relationship with my pacmate. We don't get along at all! My top 10 can apply to any note taker. I got along better with my braille lite. I was quite fond of it.

agree with the last post, and I do not have a very good relationship with mine. I'd like to get a laptop and put that blasted PAC Mate where it belongs. in the closet, never to see the light of day again!

The simplicity of my Braille 'n Speak is why I love it even though it is very outdated in terms of notetakers. It's small and is so fast to turn on and just start using. You don't have to wait for JAWS or Windows to come up. I like my laptop, but for portability and sheer convenience, I love my BNS.

Does anyone here have an Omni? They kick ass! Better than 4.1 and earlier. On my 4.0, whenever I turn up the volume too loud, and headphones aren't connected, it actually resets! LOL! I'm upgrading to an Omni quite soon. My lap top is just too big to hoist around. My wife has an Omni and has little troubles with it, ever since 6.1. Sorry all of you are having unnecessary PAC Mate issues.

Rofl to the first and fourth posts!
...and I thought me and my Braille Note Empower were hell-a-close! But then again, I think my bn is jealous now because my laptop gets a lot more attention now-a-days! Poor thing! But I dont treat it that way...you guys who throw them in the closet are mean! My bn is new, and shall not be thrown away in a closet! Rofl!

well, I had the packmate for a semester, liked it, then I got the laptop, never looked at the packmate again, same with my braille lite. once I got the pakmate I never looked at that again. sigh. times have changed and technology is changing

Huge lols to posts 1 and 4. Not sure which one had me laughing more, though I think four would win. My Braille Note's being a vlaka and not even charging. My HP Laptop's (Pavilion with XP) motherboard decided to take a dump. They're all jealous of my beautiful Macbook! But I still need Windows for Greek, so get over here and start working! Ah, right, got the xp desktop... La la la la la la.

I have the Type 'n Speak. I am quite attached to it.

When I had to send it back to get a new battery, it was just like sending a loved one to the hospital.

The Type 'n Speak is a laptop without a screen. It weighs two pounds. It also has its own speech synthesizer.

I've actually slept with my Braillenote, Braille Lite, Macbook, Netbook and Keynote Gold in my bed at various times of my life, not at once of course. Sometimes cause I forgot they were there and sometimes cause I wanted to just use them in the morning. Don't think I ever did that with my HP Pavilion though I could be wrong. Anyway, Mac is happy cause Acer's not working but Keynote's happier cause I'm giving it more attention. But Compaq Armada's happiest cause I adore it best of all and can't wait to use it. (To a Keynote Companion) hey there. Wanna come home with me? We won't say anything to your mommy or daddy, since they probably forgot all about you.

I used to sleep with my laptop on the bed, but that was because i was in Skype calls at night. not anymore, thank God.
